Gerald "Jerry" Windos, 75, was born in Carteret, NJ. Mr. Windos came to the Leesburg/Tavares area in 1991 from Orlando after his retirement from Martin Marietta where he worked as a Manufacturing Engineer for over 35 years. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and served as a Staff Sergeant during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Tavares, Triangle Boat Club, and the Holiday Rambler RV club, and the Eustis Elks Lodge #1578. Jerry retired early to enjoy years of traveling with his devoted wife. They enjoyed numerous trips in their motor home. He was an avid boater and loved fishing. He was very family oriented and enjoyed spending time and dining with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Marjorie; three daughters, Sharon (Joe) Sutera, Winter Park, Sandra (Don) George, Orlando, Susan (Adam) Fenichel, Maitland; brother, John Windos, NJ; eight grandchildren. Arrangements have been entrusted to Steverson Hamlin & Hilbish Funeral Home, Tavares, FL.
